King on Potter
Written by Johan on August 18, 2007 – 10:37 pmBefore I say anything else I should admit to not actually having read the latest Harry Potter book, nor indeed any of the previous ones except for The Philosopher’s Stone (The Sorcerer’s Stone for those of you on the other side of the Atlantic). I did enjoy it, however, and do intend on reading the rest of them.
Anyway, in Enterainment Weekly there is a rather interesting article to be found in which Stephen King shares his thoughts about the young wizard. It seems to me to be a rather more insightful text than the usual batch of reviews, and Mr King also finds time to argue against the idea that the children of today are not reading anymore, and that the novel therefore is on its way out. On the contrary, says King, and lists a bunch of books popular among the young.
There are a lot of good points made in the article, which you can find here.
