A couple of links worth following:

• A U.K. poll shows that 72 per cent want cuts in public spending. A poll is a just a poll, admittedly, but even so I think it is cause for a little optimism in this era of big government spending. Gordon Brown might be good for the Tories, just as Barack Obama might be good for the Republicans.
• On a more pessimistic note David Henderson points to how the Obama administration wants to use the bail-out money as a Trojan horse, and as a consequence prevents banks from making good choices for a change.
