BUSH WIN FOUR MORE YEARS
With only a slight reservation I think we can now say that George W Bush has won himself four
more years in the white house. As I write this he's leading Ohio with almost 130 000 votes and
considering that the Democrats claims that there are 160 000 votes not counted yet the result
seems pretty certain. It's highly unlikely that less than 15 000 of those would be Republican
votes - not even a hoard of Democratic lawyers can change that. Providing that these numbers
are correct I hope that Mr Kerry declares the election lost.
Now I'm obviously pleased by this outcome, but there's a lot of things that has to be improved
over the next four years. The situation in Iraq must be dealt with in a sensible way (which I'm
optimistic about, despite the mistakes made) and the budget deficit needs to be cut dramatically.
If the result stands Mr Bush will definitly have the means to push these changes through - both
the Senate and the House of Representatives will be Republican for the upcoming two years - so
what it comes down to is his will. We'll find out if he's got it.
